Botanical Boys
Ben and Darren, AKA Botanical Boys, have been teaching people how to create their own miniature gardens at their terrarium workshops since 2016, and in 2019 they opened their first plant-focused store at Coal Drops Yard. Here, they mindfully connect people back to nature through an exciting range of botanical experiences, including their popular terrarium masterclasses. They also have a wide range of plants on offer that will certainly brighten up any home.
The duo have since opened a second store, this time specialising in sustainable, artisan homeware. The entire range is created using plants and natural materials by local artisans in villages across Africa. The enchanting pieces include Wolof woven Senegal baskets, delightful carved Namji dolls, cheerful Tabor ceramic pots, richly colourful tablecloths, cushions, jewellery and more.
Earl of East
Earl of East started life as an enthusiastic side-hustle, selling hand-poured soy candles from a stall in east London’s Netil market. While the brand has grown, it remains independent, and you’re guaranteed to find something unique in their Coal Drops Yard store.

Caravane
Established in 1995 by Véronique Piedeleu, Caravane is a family-run business from husband Jack-Eric, and daughter Capucine Piedeleu. The brand offers a highly personal feel across collections and service, and design lovers can expect a brilliant combination of passion, know-how, and craftsmanship when they visit the Coal Drops Yard store.
The brand has connections with villages and communities all over the world, and the store is a treasure trove of beautiful furniture and accessories and a place where customers can receive expert guidance on fabric, texture, pattern, and colour.
Cissy Wears
Nicola Eyre founded Cissy Wears when she saw a gap in the market for people who don’t want to compromise on their taste just because they’ve had kids. The result is an eclectic flagship store with some of the most innovative products and brands on the market. The curated edit is put together by Nicola herself and includes the most beautiful and sustainable brands from around the world, including Saga Copenhagen, Heimess, Neu Oils and more.

Hato Store
Hato Store is the concept and lifestyle store from Hato Studio. A renowned design studio which explores connection and perception through creativity, technology and production, which it runs alongside its sister company, Hato Press.
Hato Store brings together all the elements that form the Hato DNA, from prints to clothing, Japanese crafts, homewares and accesories. The brand’s Japanese heritage plays a large role in the sourcing and quality found in the products and books stocked, working with makers from Yoko Yamono to Chie Chihiro to produce exclusive glassware and ceramics. Striving to source interesting and new products by unique makers and brands.
Honest Jons
Honest Jon’s has been around since 1974 and is an important piece within the London music scene. Music lovers around the world recognise the store and music label for its ability to champion sounds you won’t hear anywhere else!
The vibrant Coal Drops Yard space sells a specially curated selection of vinyl, CDs and books, including releases from Honest Jon’s eponymous label. Look out for free events featuring the friends, family and community of Honest Jon’s.
Kitchen Provisions
The brand behind this treasure trove of knives and kitchenware is the brainchild of former chef Tom Saunders, curator Helen Symonds and Jake Nibbs, whose background is in woodwork and design. It’s a one-stop store for all-things kitchen related.
Quality and function are first and foremost, followed by unique products and the store has quickly become a go-to for professional chefs, keen home cooks and beginners in the kitchen. The Kitchen Provisions team hunts high and low for useful equipment and innovative gadgets to make spending time in your kitchen as fun as possible — perfect for your own home, or finding a great gift.
Roseur
London-based floral artist Sophie Kim has always had a love of flowers and in 2020 she turned her dream of opening a floral business into a reality. Specialising in dried flowers, beautifully crafted wreaths and bouquets, Roseur aims to be as sustainable as possible and its flowers last for months. Sophie’s background in sculpture and fine art is evident in all of her dried flower bouquets.
Roseur is filled from floor to ceiling with flowers, making it one of the prettiest places in Coal Drops Yard. Sophie’s style is to reference nature as much as possible, giving the same respect to foliage and dried materials as to fresh blooms to create something truly unique.
Store Store
STORE STORE is both an educational centre and a workshop space, with all the facilities required to help participants learn a wide range of crafts, from pottery to risograph printing. It seeks to address the social imbalance within art, design and architecture education, by helping more young people into applied creative courses – especially those who might not have considered the pathway at all.
You’ll also find a selection of homeware products for sale, some of which are made by the participants of the after school club, and others by some of the most innovative and exciting designers working in London and Rotterdam, where STORE STORE also has a programme. Look out for handmade ceramics, artisanal candles and textured glassware.
Wolf & Badger
Wolf & Badger was founded by brothers Henry & George Graham in 2010 with a small boutique in Notting Hill, expanding two years later to a second location in Mayfair. Since then the two London stores have transformed into a three-level department store at Coal Drops Yard.
They make it easy and enjoyable to find and buy sustainably and ethically produced homeware, jewellery, fashion, accessories and beauty, without compromising on quality and design. Their aim is to foster all things innovative, from avant-garde fashion to store design to business practice to food, creating a forward thinking global community built upon the age-old pillars of skill, craftsmanship and quality.
Kiosk N1C
Kiosk N1C began its life as a magazine about King’s Cross, before becoming a living, breathing, physical part of the area. You’ll find the store on Lower Stable Street, which it has also had a hand in shaping and curating.
The people behind the brand are local experts on who and what’s happening in the area and Kiosk N1C is a place to celebrate fashion, beauty, music and the arts. It hosts a brilliant array of pop-ups, workshops, film screenings and experiences. Expect to find a special edit of pieces from emerging lifestyle brands, as well as independent books and magazines too.
