Handyside Gardens Play Park

Fun for the little ones, just off Granary Square

Climb, slide, swing and splash – perfect for little adventurers

Handyside Gardens is just off Granary Square, and is just the spot to bring younger kids.

It is one of the smallest green spaces in Kings Cross, which means it tends to be quieter than the main public areas, ideal for letting wobbly toddlers loose to play.

The entire garden is designed to be playful and interactive, and at the northern end of the park, you’ll find a designated children’s play area.

As well as swings and a slide, there is a large sandpit – plenty of room for sandcastle-building! – and lots of structures to climb and explore.

There’s also a shallow water channel running right through the park, fantastic fun for little adventurers to splash in.

For food and drinks, Waitrose is just next door, with everything you need to create a top-notch picnic to enjoy in the park.

Or, choose from one of the many family-friendly restaurants in Kings Cross – find the round-up of our favourites here.

And, since no sunny day out is complete without an ice-cream cone in hand, be sure to visit the Ruby Violet emporium before you head home.

On darker evenings, the park is fully lit, so children can happily use the space to play in after school.
