The menu draws influence from British and European cuisine, favouring a rustic style and prepared with exceptional local produce. The signature dish is the bavette steak, marinated and served with hand-cut chips and horseradish, but there is also rich gnocchi, and leek terrine chicken and cannellini beans; and one of the best bar snack menus at Kings Cross.
During the day, the selection of freshly baked pastries and £1 espressos are popular with commuters.
Being a wine bar, you’re welcomed to linger over a glass of something delicious too, and it’s the perfect spot to do just that. A zinc-clad central bar dominates the space, but every other wall is a tall glass window that floods the space with light. Tables and bar stools accommodate group or solo dining, and the double-height ceiling enhances the sense of relaxed, lofty space.
If the weather permits, the terrace is lovely, with seating dotted between the building’s latticed iron columns and looking out over Battle Bridge Place.
