Redemption is the world’s first ‘behind bars’ coffee company. Their roastery is inside the walls of HMP the Mount, where they help offenders successfully integrate into society with training and employment in the coffee industry.
As well as coffees, teas, and hot chocolate, there’s a brunch menu with a granola-based breakfast bowl, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and toasted sourdough with a multitude of toppings: peanut butter, marmite, avocado, bacon, truffled mushrooms and eggs any style.
You’ll find Redemption Roasters under one of the Victorian brick arches on Lower Stable Street, down a flight steps from Stable Street. Inside, it’s a beautiful red-bricked space with exposed industrial elements and mid-century school-style chairs. There are a few small tables, a larger sharing table and spots to perch at the counter and at the window.
If it’s busy, there are seats for up to 30 on communal tables outside.
