Parrillan is the alfresco terrace bar and grill restaurant from the team behind Barrafina. Led by Executive Chef Angel Zapata Martin, the restaurant is in a gorgeous spot on the upper level of Coal Drops Yard with views out over Regent’s Canal.

With Parrillan they’ve created a sort of punkier sibling to Barrafina: similar Iberian approach, shorter menu, grills (the eponymous parrillas) on every table…with first-class cooking and blindingly good raw ingredients.

On each table at Parrillan, you’ll find a parrilla or grill filled with white-hot charcoal. Order your dish, and the waiter brings beautifully seasoned cuts of meat, seafood and vegetables for you to cook to your liking – very hands-on and brilliant fun. The ingredients are impeccable, with fat prawns, 50-day aged steak, crisp seasonal vegetables and oh-so-tender Iberica pork.
Aside from the Parrilla, there are amplified tapas dishes (crispy croquettes, padron peppers) and main dishes, such as Arroz Caldoso with whole lobster.
The all-Spanish wine list offers wines by the glass starting from £6.50.
Parrillan is entirely open-air and one of the most beautiful al fresco eateries in London. A wooden pergola structure conceals the glass covering above, keeping the space warm and dry all year round while giving the impression you are in a much more Mediterranean clime.
Surrounding treetops, fairy lights, lush planting, and generous sheepskin throws all help to set the scene, too.
