Back in 1944, a formidable Italian lady named Lina opened a fine delicatessen, selling her handmade fresh pasta, aromatic cheeses, and cured meats. 75 years on, the legendary deli has an outpost in Kings Cross, with a restaurant and deli under one roof.

The menu is a thoroughly Italian affair, with some truly delicious antipasti, but the heroes of the menu are the pasta dishes. All handmade from scratch each day, find the likes of Stracciatella ravioli with pine nuts, pappardelle with pecorino and slow cooked lamb shoulder ragu, and deliciously fresh crab spiralled into swirls of linguine. They also serve breakfast from 8am Mon-Fri and from 9am on the weekends, which ranges from simple Pane Tostato (toasted sourdough) to an array of focaccia sandwiches.
Set over two floors of a beautiful old brick building on Stable Street, Lina Stores has a buzzy open kitchen, an intimate aperitivo bar, and a gloriously retro interior, all in that signature mint green.
Lina Stores Deli is stocked with fresh, quality Italian produce, store cupboard essentials and serving some prepared food to take away or enjoy at the counter.
Alongside antipasti and cooked pasta dishes, you’ll find a selection of mouthwatering salads. The menu varies daily, but the options will always be exquisite: Roasted Squash, Fregola, Lemon and Hazelnut; Tuna, Green Beans, Tropea Onion and Egg; Roasted Broccoli, Chilli and Sunflower Seed Salad, to name but a few. For breakfast, there’s a selection of pastries and cakes, plus great Italian coffee.
