In a world of hyper-convenience and overconsumption, LESTRANGE is on the mission to simplify the wardrobe. Founded by Tom Horne and Will Green, the brand’s modular clothing system comprises comfortable, seasonless, versatile pieces designed to be worn in any setting. Fewer things, fewer decisions, less impact on the planet and more time to focus on what’s important.
LESTRANGE has reimagined every stage of the clothing lifecycle to conserve resources and improve longevity. Designed in London and crafted in their European factories, the clothing is made from renewable and recycled materials like organic cotton, and the brand offers free repairs to extend the life of clothes.
Underlining their commitment to reducing consumption, the new store will house only a small curated edit of LESTRANGE’s seasonless capsule clothing alongside a thoughtful selection of bespoke furniture designed by Fred Rigby and made from Fallen & Felled timber in organic, biomorphic shapes that recall the natural world, with notably soft and organic silhouettes.
The store also houses the ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’, an alcove space showcasing an ever evolving curation of brands, both new and established, that resonate with LESTRANGE and embody its commitment to change within the industry. Highlights include fragrances from Haeckels and 3D printed bio-sourced design pieces from Argot Studio.
The store has been designed in accordance with Biophilic design, which uses humans’ innate attraction to nature and natural processes to improve the spaces we live and work in.
Leaning into the architectural bones of Coal Drops Yard, the design team used wood from storm-felled London Plane trees to create partitions and bespoke furnishings for the store. At the heart of the space sits The Meadow, a special curation of dried blooms and grasses chosen for their connections to the fibre and flax used in apparel. Every detail, from the ‘floating’ paper lantern lighting to the unfired clay plaster on the walls, is in keeping with the brand’s ethos and enhances the calm natural feeling of the space.
