Hoppers

Journey from Colombo to Galle

The original Hoppers opened in Soho back in 2015 and quickly became a cult favourite. Named after the Sri Lankan breakfast staple – a crispy, bowl-shaped pancake made from rice flour and coconut milk – Hoppers takes you on a culinary journey through Sri Lanka and Southern India.

The Kings Cross branch is the largest Hoppers to date, and the restaurant is split into areas within one open space, lending it a relaxed, chatty atmosphere. The decor, much like the food, cherry-picks influence from the coastal route, with lots of warm wood, glass lanterns and woven fabric wall panels.

Outdoors, there’s a mix of high and low seating, covered, heated and surrounded by lush foliage, with a nod to a 1960s tiki bar. On a hot enough day, you could almost – almost – be transported to a sun-soaked, far-flung destination.
