The food is fresh, creative, and experimental, truly a savour-every-bite feast for the senses. The menu takes inspiration from Jerusalem-born Granit’s homeland, as well as the flavours, spices and textures of dishes stretching along the Mediterranean from the Middle East to North Africa.
Vibrant sharing plates, small plates and in-betweens feature butter-drenched kabbalah bread, creamy Machneyuda’s polenta, and their popular Shikshukit 3.0, beef and lamb served with tahini, chickpeas, aubergine and kurdish dips.
Tom Dixon has designed every detail of The Coal Office in his studio, a calming space in a monochrome palette of stainless steel, natural marble and pale tiling, lit by his iconic glowing Melt pendants. The entire building follows the curve of the canal and houses three floors, with seating for 160, an open kitchen, two dining areas, a bakery and a bar.
The heated terrace at The Coal Office is on the beautifully landscaped Bagley Walk, while the rooftop terrace offers 360-degree views over the canal and Coal Drops Yard.
