Founded in 2016 by Bilgehan “Han” Ates, a designer with 25 years of experience in the clothing industry, Blackhorse Lane Atelier make premium selvedge and raw organic denim for men and women at their atelier, a repurposed 1920s factory in East London.
Blackhorse Lane Ateliers Coal Drops Yard Store is a bright, glass-fronted archway space where you’ll find a small but perfectly formed collection of men’s and women’s jeans, chinos, jackets, shirts and knitwear.
The brand has a determined focus on quality, community and sustainability. Environmental impact is considered in all their decisions and their specialist craft-makers are recruited locally and offered a share of ownership. Blackhorse Lane Atelier believes its denim design execution can’t be matched anywhere else in the world.
Repairs: Anything you buy at Blackhorse Lane Ateliers can be fixed as part of a free lifetime repair policy.
Made to Measure: Blackhorse Lane Ateliers are please to offer a made to measure service. During an initial appointment, you’ll try on a range of styles, working out which best suits your build. Once you’ve worked out your base style, our pattern cutter will measure you and discuss the alterations you like to personalise your fit. You can then choose the fabric and trims and decide on bespoke touches to your sustainable made to measure jeans. Prices start at £475 for jeans and £625 for jackets.
